History

1957

Anton Humbaur founds a company in Donauwörth as a factory representative for agricultural machinery. The original product range includes trailers, ploughs and flour mills.

1978/1979

Agricultural machinery sales decline. Anton Humbaur decides to include new products in his product range.

1980/1981

The company moves to Gersthofen in 1980 and occupies the newly-built warehouse with office building. The first trailers up to 3.5 t are sold in the following year. Humbaur imports them from Italy and adapts them to the German market.

1982 - 1989

In 1982, Ulrich Humbaur, our present managing director, joins the company. In 1984, the company starts its own production of trailers up to 3.5 t. From 1985, the company operates under the name of Humbaur GmbH.
In 1989, Humbaur gradually starts expanding the production of trailers for domestic and commercial purposes.

1998

We start producing horse trailers.

2001

We move into newly-built administration and production facilities (22,000 m^²) at Mercedesring, Gersthofen.

2005

Construction of a second production hall at Gersthofen – more than 23,000 m^² of state-of-the-art production technology.

2006

Expansion of heavy-duty range with 30?t flatbed turntable trailer.

2007

Expansion of European service network.

2007

Takeover of the polyester supplier NCK and restructuring of the firm into Polynova GmbH & Co. KG, Niedercunnersdorf.

2008

2008 Humbaur receives the award "Bavaria's Best 50" two years in a row (2007 and 2008). Introduction of the Rexus box trailer in sporty retro-design. Expansion of the commercial range.

2009

Presentation of the Loady rear tipper.

The owner, Ulrich Humbaur, acquires the semi-trailer manufacturer Kögel and now supplies the needs of the entire trailer market with his two companies - Kögel and Humbaur. The brands are operated separately.

2010

Introduction of the new HA series and development of the new Steely.

2012

Introduction of the new Universal production model and expansion of the production area.

2013

Presentation of the new generation of horse trailers: Balios, Balios AERO, Xanthos, Xanthos AERO, Zephir, Zephir AERO.

Introduction of the new Humbaur corporate design and "Follow HUMBAUR!" campaign.

2015

Enlargement of the new multifunctional Notos® horse trailer family with the Notos® PLUS and Notos® TRIO.

2017

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015 as well as KBA-ZM-A
