Milestones at Humbaur GmbH

1957

Anton Humbaur founds a factory agency for agricultural machinery in Donauwörth. The product scope includes trailers, ploughs and grain mills.

1978/1979

The sales of agricultural machinery declines. Anton Humbaur decides to include new products in the sales program.

1980/1981

The company moved to Gersthofen into the newly built warehouse with office building in 1980. The first car trailers are sold in the following year. Humbaur imports them from Italy and adapts them to the German market.

1982 - 1989

In 1982 Ulrich Humbaur, today´s managing partner, enters the company.

In 1984 the company starts the production of car trailers.

Since 1985 it has been operating under the name Humbaur GmbH.

In 1989, Humbar began to gradually expand the production of trailers for private and commercial use.

1998

Start of the production of horse trailers.

2001

New construction and relocation to the administration and production buildings (22,000 m2) at the Mercedesring in Gersthofen.

2002

Introduction of the Humbaur heavy duty program. Start of the production of construction trailers and flatbed trailers.

2003

Opening of the factory sale in the trailer centre in Gersthofen.

2005

New construction of a second production hall in Gersthofen- state-of-the-art production technology on over 23,000 m2.

2006

Extension of the heavy-duty programme to include the 30-ton-flatbed turntable trailers.

2007

Development of a European service network.

Takeover of the polyester supplier NCK and restructuring of the firm into Polynova GmbH & Co. KG in Niedercunnersdorf.

2008

For two years in a row, Humbaur receives the award "Bavarians Best 50" (2007 and 2008). Launch of the Rexus box trailer in a sporty retro design. Expansion of the carrier range.

2009

Presentation of the Loady rear tipper.

The owner, Ulrich Humbaur, acquires the semi-trailer manufacturer Kögel and now covers the needs of the entire trailer market with its two companies Kögel and Humbaur. The brands are kept separately.

2010

Presentation of the new HA-series and development of the new Steely.

2012

Launch of the new serial model Universal and extension of the operating area.

2013

Presentation of the new Humbaur-Horsetrailer generation: Balios, Balios AERO, Xanthos, Xanthos AERO, Zephir, Zephir AERO.

Introduction of the new Humbaur corporate design and "Follow HUMBAUR!" campaign.

2015

Expansion of the new multifunctional Notos®-horse-trailer-family with Notos® PLUS and Notos® TRIO.

Enlargement of the heavy-duty portfolio up to 50 tons .

2016

Introduction of the new HUK tipper models.

Presentation of the new top-model horse-trailer Maximus®.

Launch of the "FlexBox" vehicle bodies for dry, refrigerated and frozen cargo with the dry, cool and freeze series.

2017

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015 as well as KBA-ZM-A

2018

Introduction of the new box trailer models with sandwich panels from our own production.

2019

Launch of the Steely DK and Startrailer DK with folding drawbar.

The revolution in the horse-trailer-market: The launch of the patented transport-safety-system EquiGuard®.

2020

Production of the 1 millionth Humbaur trailer.

Humbaur receives again the award "Bavarians Best 50".

The heavy-duty range is expanded with the construction trailer HD18. It is ideal for the transport of building materials of any kind, pallet goods and general goods.

Introduction of the HKPA Poly-aluminium box trailer as single and tandem axle. With the aluminium rear ramp, it is not only suitable for transporting furniture and moving boxes, but also for loading up two motorcycles.

2021

The FlexBox vehicle bodies are pioneering in the future and are relying on alternative drives.

For the environment: together with the proWIN pro nature foundation, Humbaur develops one of the first bee-trailers. With space for up to 6 beehives, the beemobile is particulalry interesting for small and medium-sized beehives.
